Planetarium |
| The
planetarium is located 1.5 miles north of downtown Reno
on Virginia Street. It's on the campus of the University
of Nevada, Reno., and is located: 1.5 miles north of
downtown Reno on Virginia Street. For information and
reservations, call (775) 784-4811. The cost of admission
for adults is $5, and $3.50 for children under 12 and
seniors over 60. The complex has a museum and gift shop,
plus exhibits on space and astronomy. Free telescope
viewings are available from 8:30-9:30 p.m. every clear
Friday night. |

| Ft.
Churchill Historic State Monument |
| You'll
find this 1860 U.S. Army outpost eight miles south of
Silver Springs, via Alternate Highway 95 (start by driving
east from Reno on I-80). The 710-acre park has a visitor
center, picnic area, and campground, located beside
the Carson River. Nominal fees are charged for use of
the campground and picnic areas. Hours: 8 a.m. to 4:30
p.m., Friday through Tuesday. For information, call

Bowling Stadium Theater |
| Located
downtown, at 300 North Center Street, this theater is
part of the tournament bowling center. Admission to
the theater is $5 for adults and $3.50 for students
and seniors. Children 6 and under: free. The 32-minute
film "To be an Astronaut" is shown daily at 10:30 a.m.,
noon, 2:30, 4. and 5:30 p.m. Tickets are available on
the fourth floor, at tournament level. For information,

Ark Wildlife Sanctuary |
| Animal
Ark Wildlife Sanctuary houses animals mostly native
to the American West, including coyotes, pronghorn antelopes,
black bears, mountain lions, wolves, bobcats, owls,
desert tortoise, and more, including two tigers (found
in Asia). The park is open weekends from early April
to late October, and also open on Thursdays and Fridays
during summer months. Admission fee: $4 for adults,
and $3 for children 3 years and under. To get there,
take Interstate 395 north from Reno, and turn right
on Red Rock Road, and drive 11 miles to Deerlodge. Turn
right and drive one mile to the sanctuary. For information,
