| St.
Patrick's Day Parade |
|
This is the largest street parade
being celebrated every year, in Reno City. St Patrick,
the Patron Saint of Ireland, was responsible for introducing
Catholicism into Ireland and the parade is held in
honor of his memory.
The citizens of Reno can be found wearing all manner
of green garments on this day and mood of the parade
is supposed to be somber. There are no commercial
floats or garish blow up figures on this parade.

Jazz Festival |
|
This is one of the most popular Reno
festivals. The 43rd annual Reno Jazz Festival hosts
more than 300 performances and clinics featuring the
Vanguard Jazz Orchestra, 40 jazz artists from around
the nation and approximately 280 middle school, high
school and college groups from around the west.

August Nights |
|
It's the famous annual car show, a week-long outdoor
festival with music, parties, cruising, and lots more.
The annual event attracts car lovers from across the
country to celebrate the cars and music of the 1950-70s
with show 'n' shines, poker runs, and cruises. The
main action is in downtown Reno but events are held
throughout Reno and Sparks. |

Harrah's Reno -- Nightly except Wedenedsdays.
This masterful impressionist formerly starred in "Spellbound"
(1992), and has played as a single in both Reno and
Las Vegas. He now is at Harrah's for a six-month engagement.
You can see him on TV repeats (Pax TV), as Mr. Jones
in "Twice in a Lifetime." |

& Jinger's Illusionarium |

Mark and Jinger Kalin were the stars
of the popular and long-running Carnival of Wonders.
Now it has a new lead comedian-magician (Mark Kornhauser),
and he brings new elements including a host of special
characters including Brainiac, Little Mac, and Samurai
Sam. |

A wholesome, free family event giving
recognition to the City's namesake - Major General
Jesse Lee Reno. Entertainment showcases local talent,
whether they are musicians, singers, dancers, re-enactors,
crafters or face painters. The event concludes with
the recognition of Reno's unsung heroes with the "Good
Neighbor of the Year Award". |

Celebration |

This annual event features Irish
and Highland dancing, bagpipes, medieval fighting
reenactments, storytelling, athletic competitions
as well as Celtic bands, food and craft vendors. |

City Camel Races |

This unusual event traditionally
takes place on the weekend after Labor Day in Virginia
City, Nevada. Set atop a historic mining quarry, the
event features camel, ostrich and emu races and combines
an annual entertainment tradition with gold-rush era
nostalgia. The races also feature historic mining
techniques, such as hard rock drilling and gold panning. |
